Oral Frenulum Surgery

The braces are bands of fibrous connective tissue with or without muscle involvement, which link dynamic structures to fixed ones. In the oral cavity there are many braces in the alveolar mucosa. Sometimes unfortunately, these braces can cause pathologies such as orthodontic, phonetic, periodontal and prosthetic problems, due to pathological variations in their shape, size and position.

Below we briefly describe the most frequent pathology in relation to mouth braces:

– Ankyloglossia or short lingual frenulum

– Upper interincisal frenulum that causes incorrect

– Vestibular recession in the anteroinfeiror area due to vestibular frenulum

Through short-term surgical interventions and under local anesthesia, most of the problems caused by the oral braces are solved.
